July’s Mouth-Friendly Recipe 2014

Dark Chocolate Kiwi Pops


  • 6 large kiwis, peeled and cut into rounds that are ⅓” to ½” thick
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup coconut oil
  • Lollipop sticks


Insert a lollipop stick through the edge of each kiwi slice. Place them on a tray lined with wax paper or parchment paper and freeze for at least four hours.

Melt the dark chocolate and coconut oil using a double broiler, or use a glass bowl over a pan of simmering water. You can also melt the chocolate and oil using your microwave at 50 percent power for 15-30 seconds at a time.

Dip each frozen kiwi slice into the melted chocolate, covering evenly. The chocolate will set quickly, so you can snack on these refreshing treats immediately, or refreeze to enjoy later.
